Switching to TallyPrime, step by step
Moving your books is easier with a plan. Here’s how businesses move onto TallyPrime with Powercomputers, from the first demo to your first month live.
From demo to live
- 01
See it on your own business
A free demo built around how you invoice, stock and report today, so you know what changes before you commit.
- 02
Choose the licence and setup
Silver, Gold or TallyPrime Server depending on how many people work at once, installed on your computers or our cloud server.
- 03
Prepare your data
Chart of accounts and opening balances, customers and suppliers with their outstanding bills, stock items with units, godowns and opening stock, and your VAT details.
- 04
Bring the data across
TallyPrime imports masters and transactions from Excel, so lists and balances exported from your current system can come straight in.
- 05
Configure the extras
Invoice formats, Power VFD for TRA invoices, Powerpack controls and any custom reports you need from day one.
- 06
Train, go live, get support
Practical training for your team, in-house, on-site or remote, then day-to-day support once you’re live.

Moving from another system
If your current software can export your lists and balances to Excel, that’s usually where the move starts. Each comparison below covers the differences you’ll notice.
TallyPrime vs Zoho Books
A licence you own against a plan-by-plan subscription, with warehouses, batches and bills of materials included rather than on the top plans.
TallyPrime vs Odoo
One product with accounting and inventory together, licensed once, against a per-user suite of separate apps with implementation priced separately.
TallyPrime vs QuickBooks
Local sales and support, a licence you own and inventory in every edition, against monthly plans with no local Tanzania site.
TallyPrime vs Excel
Ledgers, stock, controls and reports already built, instead of a spreadsheet you have to design, check and keep consistent yourself.
