When does your business need TallyPrime Server?

A TallyPrime Gold licence already lets several people work on the same company data over your office network. For many businesses that’s enough for years.

TallyPrime Server is for the point where it isn’t. Tally positions it for medium and large businesses with many simultaneous users, working alongside Gold to give dedicated, controlled access to company data.

As more people work on company data at the same time, businesses start to run into slow performance, data conflicts, downtime, interrupted work, and concerns about who can reach the data.

It tends to show at the busiest moments: month-end, when the accounts team, the sales desk and the stores are all entering at once, or when a new branch starts working on the same company.

Concurrency: several users can work on the same data at the same time without waiting on each other. Activity at each user’s computer is kept isolated at that computer, so it doesn’t affect the data on the server or the work of other users.

Monitoring: authorised users can see the list of logged-in users and the companies that are open, and disconnect a user when needed, for example a session left open on a machine nobody is using.

TallyPrime Server uses security levels to decide what each group of users may do with company data, including creating companies and backing up, restoring, repairing or splitting data. Monitoring is itself a permission, and the options to disconnect users or export server data only work for users who are allowed to monitor.
